City of Portland Fails to Stick Local Environmental Activist With Fees

Early this year my client, Sean Green, filed a legal action to force the City of Portland to take action on an important environmental protection law meant to keep lead out of our neighborhoods and out of our bodies.

Mayor Wheeler's Bureau of Development Services ("BDS") played games with its legal papers in order to avoid the perception that Sean got exactly what he asked for in the lawsuit (he did). The City then thanked Sean or his civic engagement by asking a court to force him to pay over $3,000 in legal fees.

I am happy to report that Judge Alexander denied the City's vindictive and petty request.
